Soki Kanazawa, designed and operated by UDS Ltd., stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of traditional Japanese beauty and modern hospitality. Situated in the historic Fukuromachi district, adjacent to the renowned Omimachi Market, the hotel draws inspiration from the concept of "The Bare Vessel"-a space where guests can reconnect with themselves, experience the changing seasons, and savor the essence of the land. By utilizing local materials such as wood, stone, clay, and iron, and collaborating closely with local craftsmen, the hotel not only supports the regional economy but also fosters a deep sense of place and authenticity.

The eight-story, steel-framed hotel features 130 rooms in 12 configurations, catering to a diverse range of travelers. Each space is thoughtfully designed with minimalist aesthetics, gentle curves, and the traditional Kaga Gosai color palette, creating a tranquil atmosphere that encourages relaxation and reflection. Public amenities include a bathhouse inspired by the historic Kaga Onsen, and a restaurant that celebrates Kanazawa's culinary heritage by serving seasonal dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients. The hotel's commitment to sustainability is evident in its use of raw materials, waste reduction initiatives, and efforts to create meaningful engagement between guests and the local community.

Soki Kanazawa's design process was rooted in extensive research into Kanazawa's history, traditional construction methods, and local culture. The project overcame creative and technical challenges by seamlessly integrating modern technology-such as multilingual check-in machines and interactive communal spaces-with time-honored techniques and materials. This innovative approach has earned Soki Kanazawa the Bronze A' Design Award in 2025, recognizing its excellence in design, contribution to quality of life, and role in making the world a better place through thoughtful, community-centered hospitality.
