Innovative Dual-Book Korean History Textbook Set to Launch in 2025, Blending Past and Present Through Engaging Design

Mirae-N Design Team has announced the release of "History Flows As One," a groundbreaking Korean history textbook for high school students, scheduled for use beginning in the first semester of 2025. Developed over eight months in Seoul, this textbook set reimagines the traditional approach to history education by presenting the subject as a continuous, relatable story rather than a series of disconnected events. The design draws inspiration from the motif "You in the Past, Me in the Present," using immersive illustrations and emotional storytelling to connect students with both historical figures and their own lives.

The textbook is uniquely divided into two volumes, each focusing on a different era-one on daily life in the past and the other on the present. The covers feature characters from each period walking toward each other, symbolizing the ongoing dialogue between history and the present day. A dog, depicted as a recurring motif, visually links the two books, reinforcing the idea that history is a living continuum. Special gilded elements on the covers add a sense of luxury and significance, making the books feel more like cherished novels than traditional textbooks.

By adopting a familiar, novel-like design, "History Flows As One" seeks to ease academic pressure and foster genuine curiosity about history among students. The dual-book format encourages readers to see how past experiences shape current choices, promoting deeper engagement and understanding. This innovative approach has already garnered international recognition, earning the Silver A' Design Award for Education, Teaching Aid, and Training Content Design in 2025. Mirae-N Design Team's work is poised to set a new standard for educational materials, making history both accessible and meaningful for a new generation of learners.
