Zodiac Loong Chinese Baijiu: Award-Winning Packaging Celebrates Tradition, Artistry, and Collectibility

Chengdu Stone Design Co., Ltd has set a new benchmark in liquor packaging with the Zodiac Loong Chinese Baijiu, a product that merges the majesty of the Chinese zodiac with innovative design. Debuting in April 2024 after nearly a year of development in Chengdu, the packaging was conceived as a tribute to the Year of the Loong, with plans to expand the series to celebrate each zodiac sign annually. The design's centerpiece is its cap, meticulously sculpted into the head of the Loong-a revered symbol of good fortune, health, and cultural pride-making each bottle a coveted collectible and a meaningful gift.

The bottle's body is finished in Jicui, a distinctive peacock green shade inspired by the Zang Kiln of the Qing Dynasty, and features a frosted matte texture for an elegant, contemporary feel. Traditional wave patterns are engraved on the lower section, harmonizing with the Loong head cap and a golden metal base to evoke a sense of Eastern grandeur. The cap's whiskers serve as a functional locking mechanism, ensuring secure storage and transport while symbolizing wisdom and longevity. The interactive experience of opening the bottle, paired with a gift box that complements the design, enhances its appeal for both collectors and gift-givers.

This project was driven by a deep understanding of the growing consumer demand for zodiac-themed, commemorative products that celebrate Chinese heritage. The design team, led by Yang Shi, Ying Zhang, Yuanji Zhao, and Tingting Fei, overcame the challenge of integrating traditional motifs with modern aesthetics, resulting in a product that is both visually striking and culturally resonant. The Zodiac Loong Chinese Baijiu's recognition with the Golden A' Design Award 2025 underscores its excellence in advancing the art of packaging, setting a trend for future designs that honor tradition while embracing innovation.
