DC Alliance unveils the innovative "Folded Courtyard" concept for Ningbo Hanvos School, completed in August 2017, to revolutionize international education architecture.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DC Alliance introduces the groundbreaking "Folded Courtyard" concept in the design of Ningbo Hanvos School, a 53330 sqm education building that challenges traditional architectural norms. The school's spatial organization unfolds in both horizontal and vertical directions, creating distinct courtyards for various functional requirements such as teaching, activities, livelihood, administration, recreation, and etiquette.
The design overcomes the challenge of limited land use and high demand for international teaching methods by ingeniously "asking for space from the sky." The school's core public space is situated at the top of the building terrace, while basic teaching unit rooms are located at the bottom, maximizing the playground area.
Utilizing advanced materials such as barotropic aerated concrete bloc B6 and energy-efficient measures including rooftop solar energy storage, the school embodies sustainability and modernity. The completion of Ningbo Hanvos School marks a significant milestone in redefining educational architecture.
