Shuibei International Center: A Fusion of Tradition and Modernity

Aedas proudly presents the Shuibei International Center, a striking office and business complex that seamlessly blends traditional Chinese culture with modern architectural design. Inspired by the noble character of bamboo, the tower and podium symbolize the "one in life, two in three, three in all" of Taoism, creating a three-stage structure representing heaven, earth, and man.

The 197.5m office tower and podium mall are designed with a segmented method, unifying the entire function. The innovative use of multiple sky gardens throughout the complex creates habitable spaces and multifunctional exhibition areas, blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior.

The tower's curtain wall adopts a unit type glass window, while the metal curtain wall of the podium utilizes the slotted curtain wall, optimizing the flat surface to save costs.

The Shuibei International Center spans 105,000 sqm by gross area, with a total of 43 floors above ground and 4 floors below. The tower stands at 197.5 meters high, featuring office floors with a 4.5m height and 3m clearance. The project commenced in May 2015 and was completed in September 2020.

Dr. Andy Wen and Liu Yan, along with the Aedas design team, overcame numerous challenges to bring this unique project to life. The complex's location in a high-density neighborhood presented multifunctional program challenges, leading to a sustainable design that is both aesthetically pleasing and economically viable.
