Nuts Blind Box: A' Design Award Bronze Winner

Jinglun Cui, a renowned packaging designer from Qian'an Tangshan, China, has unveiled the Nuts Blind Box, an innovative packaging concept that has been awarded the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2022. Inspired by Mondrian Composition with Red, Blue, and Yellow, the design integrates interactive elements and balanced nutrition, offering consumers an engaging unboxing experience.

The Nuts Blind Box draws inspiration from neoplasticism, emphasizing abstraction, simplicity, and the natural force. The outer box features well-coordinated lines and primary colors, seamlessly integrating with the brown kraft paper to convey the product's attributes of balanced and healthy nutrition from mixed nuts. The inner box maintains the same color scheme and incorporates cartoon character illustrations, enhancing the interactive and entertaining experience for consumers.

Constructed using food contact grade white board and 300gsm CKB, the Nuts Blind Box features an inner automatic lifting mechanism made from elastic string, ensuring a seamless unboxing experience. The design also incorporates a role play game, allowing consumers to engage in permutations, combinations, and twisting, adding an element of fun and interaction to the unboxing process.

The project, which commenced in June 2020, was launched in April 2021 in Beijing, China. The Nuts Blind Box represents a significant innovation in the blind box industry, offering not only visually appealing graphics but also a unique interactive experience for consumers.

Jinglun Cui, who has over 14 years of experience in the packaging solution division of Stora Enso, has demonstrated a commitment to providing environmentally friendly and creative packaging solutions to brand owners worldwide. The Nuts Blind Box stands as a testament to his dedication to integrating sustainability, creativity, and practicality in packaging design.
