Mighty Dragon on the Hill: A Paradigm of Sustainable Industrial Architecture

T.E&C Architects & Associates proudly presents the Mighty Dragon on the Hill, a groundbreaking sustainable factory project completed in October 2020 in Miaoli, Taiwan. Spanning 7 hectares, this innovative design seamlessly integrates traditional Chinese dragon imagery with the complex needs of a technology industry, while prioritizing environmental and cultural impact.

The factory comprises six main buildings, including an administration center, research center, dormitory, and production line, all designed to meet the demands of production and function. The architecture mimics the heat sink of an engine, utilizing arch features and vertical elements as the main theme. The design also incorporates irregular cliff divisions inspired by traditional Chinese dragon imagery and the seasonal changes of the surroundings.

One of the key features of the Mighty Dragon on the Hill is its commitment to sustainability. The architecture is designed to preserve the original skyline of the hill, with short buildings that optimize the installation of solar panels and reduce wind pressure. This approach not only respects the primitive landscape but also enhances the efficiency of the factory's operations.
