Taikan Fast Sushi Interior Design Project

The concept of Taikan was inspired by the fusion of traditional Japanese culture and architecture with urban and contemporary elements. The design emphasizes open and hollow spaces, incorporating wood, water, and transparencies alongside concrete, matte black, and three-dimensional tiles. The use of wood in Japanese constructions was a key advantage, resulting in a visually striking element for the space.

The restaurant's interior design is distinguished by the use of prefabricated coating on the floor, ceiling, and walls, ensuring efficiency, cost reduction, and a strong visual impact. LED bars embedded in the wall and ceiling create a dynamic light effect reminiscent of chopsticks, adding to the modern aesthetic.

With a focus on practicality and modernity, the design facilitates a fast flow of service, featuring a large buffet bench and multiple service boxes. The space is carefully planned to provide a comfortable distance between tables, creating a rich sensorial ambiance with the sound of water, greenery, and pleasant lighting.

The project, which lasted 2 months in the design phase and 3 months in the construction phase, was informed by research on Japanese architecture, materials, and environmental integration. The design team overcame challenges to create a space that offers a unique and immersive dining experience.
