Satin Hair Salon: Award-Winning Modern Korean-Style Salon Redefines Customer Experience

Chiun Ju Interior Design has set a new standard for hair salons with the completion of Satin Hair, a Korean-inspired salon located in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. Recognized with the Iron A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2025, the project stands out for its innovative use of curves, natural materials, and transparent design elements that create a welcoming and stress-free environment for female clientele. The salon was completed in July 2023 and quickly garnered attention for its fresh approach to commercial space design.

The 198.3-square-meter, two-floor venue features a semi-open layout that balances privacy and openness, with distinct zones for waiting, hairdressing, washing, and relaxation. Large floor-to-ceiling windows and a glass entrance flood the space with natural light, while a striking oval lighting fixture and curved logo wall serve as visual centerpieces. The use of beige-gray tones, warm wood flooring, and white spray-painted ironwork brings together a harmonious blend of softness and strength, echoing the flowing lines of hair and the rhythmic beauty of movement.

Functionality was a key focus, with careful planning of seating and circulation to ensure comfort and ease for both clients and stylists. The design overcomes challenges posed by the building's age, including a reimagined staircase and custom-crafted curved elements. Every detail, from the terrazzo flooring to the interlocking iron mesh, contributes to an atmosphere that is both modern and inviting, making each visit a memorable and relaxing journey. Satin Hair not only elevates the salon experience but also sets a benchmark for future expansions and industry best practices.
