Brocade Grace: Award-Winning Residence Showcases Seamless Integration of Function, Style, and Family Identity

"Brocade Grace" by Zhu-Mi Interior Design reimagines residential living by weaving together privacy, openness, and personal expression within a thoughtfully crafted 152-square-meter apartment in Taiwan. Completed in December 2020, the project addresses the needs of a family of three, with each member's preferences reflected in the home's design, color palette, and spatial flow. The entryway, intentionally deep and spacious, sets the tone for a sense of ceremony and comfort upon arrival, while providing ample storage and enhancing privacy.

Central to the design is a diagonally cut kitchen island, which serves as both a functional hub and a social anchor, encouraging smooth movement and interaction throughout the space. The residence harmonizes the father's taste for refined luxury with the mother's and son's affinity for American casual style, resulting in a balanced environment that feels both sophisticated and inviting. The use of eco-friendly materials-such as Italian slab tiles, natural stone, and artistic paint-ensures a healthy, sustainable living environment, while the color scheme of black, white, blue, and pink subtly reveals each family member's personality.

The project's technical achievements include the precise integration of materials of varying thickness and weight, as well as the innovative use of hidden doors and suspended fixtures. These solutions required meticulous adjustments to ensure both aesthetic cohesion and structural integrity. The design also incorporates advanced living systems, such as an ERV and dehumidifier, to optimize comfort. "Brocade Grace" has been recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award for its creative ingenuity, technical excellence, and its contribution to enhancing quality of life through interior design.
