Happystudio's Terra Cascade stands as a testament to architectural innovation, earning the Silver A' Design Award for its unique approach to residential living. Completed in August 2022 in the lush hillsides of Taipei's Neihu District, Terra Cascade reimagines the relationship between home and environment. The design draws inspiration from natural rhythms, utilizing expansive windows and open balconies to dissolve the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, allowing residents to experience the changing seasons from the comfort of their home.

The residence's interlocking volumetric structure is engineered to maximize vertical space while maintaining a harmonious balance between privacy and communal interaction. Rotating balconies and layered facades not only optimize natural light but also encourage connectivity across floors, fostering a dynamic living environment. Inside, flexible layouts and multifunctional spaces cater to the evolving needs of multi-generational families, supporting both private retreats and vibrant social gatherings. The rooftop terrace offers panoramic views, further enhancing the connection to the surrounding forested landscape.

Sustainability is at the core of Terra Cascade's realization, with the use of low carbon stone, renewable timber, and adaptable smart glass technologies. The design process incorporated aerial analyses, material testing, and resident feedback to ensure energy efficiency and user satisfaction.
