FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TECNIMED s.r.l., an Italian leader in innovative medical devices, proudly announces the launch of VisioFocus Vet, the latest advancement in non-contact thermometry for animals. Building on the success of its human-use predecessor, VisioFocus, and the pioneering Thermofocus Animal, VisioFocus Vet is designed to provide instantaneous, hygienic, and non-invasive temperature readings for pets and livestock. The product's excellence and ingenuity have been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award 2025 in the Pet Care, Toys, Supplies and Products for Animals category.
VisioFocus Vet leverages patented infrared technology and a unique LED aiming system that projects safe, laser-free arches to indicate the correct measurement distance and area, typically the animal's eye. This ensures accurate readings without causing discomfort or stress to the animal. The device also features exclusive stabilization systems for calibration to ambient conditions, and an app-enabled alignment system that adjusts readings for different animal types, breeds, and sizes. These innovations eliminate the need for invasive rectal thermometers, making temperature checks more comfortable for both animals and handlers.
Developed in collaboration with the University of Parma's Veterinary Sciences department, VisioFocus Vet underwent rigorous clinical research to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability. The project, which began in January 2019 and concluded in January 2021 in Vedano Olona, Italy, overcame significant technical challenges, including identifying the optimal measurement area and calibrating for various animal physiologies. The result is a compact, lightweight device (144 x 43.5 x 21.5 mm, 98g with batteries) that sets a new benchmark in animal health monitoring and veterinary care.
