Pengfei Nankai Academy: A Modern Artistic Interior Celebrating Love, Art, and Contemporary Living

Serendipper's Pengfei Nankai Academy project, recently awarded the Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, stands as a testament to the power of design to evoke emotion and elevate daily living. Located in Tianjin, China, this 263.9-square-meter sample room was completed in October 2024 and is themed around the warmth of love, seamlessly integrating custom furniture, art, and luxurious materials to create a radiant and inviting atmosphere. The project's narrative draws inspiration from the vitality of art and a childlike perspective, offering residents a unique outlook on the world that is both heartwarming and sophisticated.

The design employs strong modern lines and flowing curves throughout the floor and ceiling, reminiscent of undulating waves and the natural rhythm of the sea. This dynamic visual flow guides visitors through distinct zones, each carefully curated to balance movement and tranquility. The reading area features a wall-spanning wooden bookshelf and abundant natural light, while a green plant wall and Italian luxury stone accents infuse the space with freshness and understated opulence. Every element, from imported wood veneers to marble finishes, is meticulously chosen to foster a harmonious coexistence of art, function, and comfort.

Serendipper's approach is rooted in ongoing research into contemporary art trends and lifestyle needs, ensuring the space resonates with the aspirations of modern residents. The design team-Lei Dong, Tianlu Cai, Dan Liang, and Xinkai Li-overcame creative and technical challenges to realize a home that connects deeply with the spiritual world of its inhabitants.
