"Six Senses" Billiards Table Melds Journey to the West Mythology with Exquisite Craftsmanship and Modern Design

Demi Industrial Design Co., Ltd has launched the "Six Senses" billiards table, a striking work of functional art that reimagines the classic game through the lens of Chinese mythology. Drawing inspiration from the beloved Journey to the West, the table features six display panels, each depicting a distinct mythological scene, including the Bull Demon King and the burning Guanyin Temple. The table's six legs are modeled after the Sea God Needle, while intricate reliefs symbolize the six senses of Buddhism, creating a rich narrative tapestry that elevates both form and function.

The "Six Senses" table stands out for its masterful integration of traditional Chinese art techniques-relief carving, gold inlay, meticulous painting, and jewelry inlay-combined with modern production methods. Walnut wood, mother of pearl, and abalone shell are carefully selected and hand-finished, while CNC machining ensures precision in the table's structure. Hundreds of artists contributed to the creation of the story panels, which were finalized through high-definition scanning and inkjet printing, then seamlessly embedded into the table's design. The result is a visually stunning piece available in two color schemes: a regal dark green gold court and a blue antique bronze.

The project, conceptualized in Shengfang Town and showcased in Beijing, represents over 700 days of research and collaboration among artists, designers, and technical experts. The team overcame significant challenges in translating literary myth into tangible art, refining every detail through extensive prototyping and feedback. The "Six Senses" table not only meets the highest standards of playability-with a crisp ball sound and smooth movement-but also serves as a cultural ambassador, bringing the spirit of Journey to the West into contemporary living spaces. Its recognition with the Iron A' Design Award underscores its success in marrying cultural heritage with modern design innovation.
