FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Secrets and Impression Moxche, designed by Luis Enrique Macedo Ramirez and the MAAR Arquitectura team, has emerged as a new icon in luxury hospitality following its completion in late 2023 within the Corasol community of Riviera Maya, Mexico. The expansive resort spans 140,000 square meters and features 683 rooms, 14 restaurants, a 500-seat theater, and a spa with 31 cabins, all meticulously crafted to reflect the region's Mayan heritage and natural beauty. The project's entrance, aligned with the winter solstice, pays homage to ancient traditions while seamlessly integrating local materials such as Mayan stone and ornamental wood with contemporary architectural elements.
The design philosophy centers on sustainability, cultural authenticity, and guest comfort. Native vegetation, large-format glass panels, and functional zoning create immersive spaces that maximize natural light, privacy, and energy efficiency. The resort's crescent-shaped buildings optimize ocean views, while features like cenote-inspired pools, rooftop infinity pools, and a man-made beach pool enhance the guest experience by fostering a strong connection to nature. Sustainable practices, including rainwater conservation and natural ventilation, further underscore the commitment to environmental stewardship.
Secrets and Impression Moxche's innovative approach has garnered international acclaim, earning the Silver A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2025. The project overcame significant challenges, such as maintaining a human scale across a large site and integrating advanced technologies with local craftsmanship. Through extensive research, site analysis, and collaboration with local experts, the design team has set a new standard for eco-conscious, culturally resonant hospitality, inspiring future developments in the region and beyond.
