Paris-based designers Valeriia Ilicheva and Antoine Questel have been honored with the prestigious Golden A' Design Award 2025 for Electraline, a modular EV charging station infrastructure unveiled at the Paris Motor Show and set for European rollout in 2025, recognized for its innovative blend of sustainability, user-centric design, and adaptability in public urban spaces.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Electraline, designed by Valeriia Ilicheva and Antoine Questel for Electra, represents a significant leap forward in public EV charging infrastructure. Developed in Paris and first showcased at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, Electraline is a holistic, all-in-one solution that prioritizes user experience, sustainability, and adaptability. The project, which began in February 2024 and will see its first installations across France, Belgium, Italy, and Spain in early 2025, has already garnered international acclaim by winning the Golden A' Design Award in the Street and City Furniture Design category.
What sets Electraline apart is its modular architecture, allowing seamless expansion from a compact base station to large-scale hubs equipped with solar canopies. Each component, from responsibly sourced wood to energy-efficient LED displays, is thoughtfully integrated to ensure both environmental responsibility and visual harmony with urban landscapes. The design's approachable form, intuitive LED guidance, and comfortable seating areas invite users to relax while charging, transforming the charging process into a positive, accessible experience.
The station's technical specifications highlight its flexibility: scalable modules, optional solar canopies for renewable energy generation, and real-time digital displays for user information. Electraline's development was guided by extensive research and user feedback, ensuring that the infrastructure not only meets technical and sustainability standards but also addresses the evolving needs of EV drivers. By balancing modularity, recognizability, and eco-friendly materials, Electraline sets a new benchmark for public infrastructure, supporting the transition to greener urban mobility across Europe.
