FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Moodlit Design's latest project, "Gin," has secured the Bronze A' Design Award 2025 in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, celebrating its masterful blend of minimalism, spatial harmony, and local artistry. Completed in November 2024 in New Taipei City, Taiwan, this 115-square-meter single-story residence was conceived as a tranquil sanctuary, shaped by the homeowner's lifestyle and a desire for both softness and strength. The design is distinguished by its consistent use of curved elements, a cohesive beige color scheme, and seamless flooring that visually unites public and private spaces.
From the outset, "Gin" was envisioned as a blank canvas, transformed through the thoughtful integration of micro cement finishes, rounded corners, and flowing ceiling curves. The home's layout is anchored by a curved entryway and dual oval ceiling features, guiding visitors toward panoramic river views framed by expansive windows. The master bedroom's innovative half-wall and glass partition dissolve traditional barriers, allowing light and scenery to permeate the entire space. A gallery-like corridor, adorned with locally sourced mosaic tiles and textured walls reminiscent of the homeowner's rural childhood, connects living areas while eliminating sharp edges and enhancing spatial depth.
Lighting plays a central role in the home's atmosphere, with a no-main-light concept utilizing indirect, linear, and spotlighting to create varied moods suitable for daily living and photography. The walk-in closet, highlighted by glass doors and curved walls, serves as both a functional space and a showcase for personal achievements. Every detail, from the invisible induction cooktop in the kitchen to the handcrafted stone-textured concealed door, reflects meticulous craftsmanship and a commitment to blending modern design with local materials. The result is a residence that not only elevates quality of life but also stands as a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the power of thoughtful design.
