PUYU Interior Design has been honored with the Bronze A' Design Award 2025 for "Light Field," a 132.2-square-meter office in Taiwan that reimagines a former tin sheet factory into a vibrant, art-inspired workspace, blending modern aesthetics with wooden artistry to foster creativity, functionality, and a gallery-like atmosphere.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PUYU Interior Design's "Light Field" project, located in Taiwan and completed in November 2024, has received the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The project stands out for its transformation of a former tin sheet factory into a dynamic office that doubles as a gallery for the owner's wooden art collection. By embracing an "object-driven space" concept, the designers skillfully integrated traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, resulting in a workspace that is both practical and visually engaging.
The design breaks away from conventional office rigidity through a "deconstructed circulation" approach, featuring non-linear visual axes and layered transitions. Visitors are greeted by a striking blue L-shaped reception bar and vibrant yellow seating, setting a tone of vitality balanced with rationality. Titanium-plated metal cabinets subtly divide the office and discussion areas, maintaining openness while ensuring privacy. Large wooden furniture pieces, carefully positioned, highlight their natural textures and serve as focal points that bridge the past and present.
Material selection and spatial planning were meticulously considered to enhance both aesthetics and functionality. Self-leveling cement mortar floors provide tactile continuity, while expansive glass windows flood the space with natural light, reducing reliance on artificial illumination. The color palette follows a "warm-cool balance," with deep blue and natural wood tones anchored by neutral gray-white flooring. Curved archways and custom steps ensure ergonomic harmony between modern elements and the owner's diverse wooden art pieces, while strategic lighting accentuates the space's narrative flow. The result is a multifunctional office that adapts seamlessly to staff interaction, private meetings, and relaxation, all within an environment that celebrates art and innovation.
