Moutai Prince Packaging Redefines Tradition with Modern Craftsmanship and Symbolic Design

Chengdu Wanjiazu Technology Co., Ltd has achieved international acclaim with its Moutai Prince packaging, which was awarded the prestigious Golden A' Packaging Design Award in 2025. The new design, introduced to the Chinese market in December 2024, draws inspiration from the Chinese proverb likening the growth of a sesame stalk to personal and professional advancement. The bottle's base mimics a sesame pod's natural curves, while the cap features blooming sesame petals and five cranes, symbolizing prosperity and longevity. This thoughtful symbolism connects deeply with consumers, reinforcing cultural pride and emotional resonance.

The packaging overhaul for Moutai Prince Classic Moutai Flavor, a product of Kweichow Moutai Co.,Ltd., focused on enhancing visual appeal and brand distinction. The design team, led by General Manager and Design Director Jingan Jia, employed a harmonious color palette dominated by elegant sauce hues, bronze, and gilded gold, complemented by a wisteria purple label and golden wheat ear motifs. The bottle's velvet-textured base and meticulously embossed metal cap elevate both tactile and visual experiences, while the outer box features Ruyi motifs, cloud patterns, and five cranes, collectively conveying wishes for longevity, prosperity, and health.

This project, which began in Chengdu, Sichuan Province in March 2024, overcame significant creative challenges to achieve a unified aesthetic that celebrates both tradition and innovation. Extensive research ensured that every design element-from the Timeless Heritage illustration to the luxurious materials-invites a meaningful dialogue with consumers, fostering loyalty and satisfaction. The packaging not only protects the 500ml premium liquor but also serves as a bridge to Chinese heritage, amplifying the brand's core values and competitive edge in the global market.
