"Tranquil Oasis" by ARTTA Concept Studio: Award-Winning Biophilic Commercial Lobby Design in Hong Kong

ARTTA Concept Studio's "Tranquil Oasis" has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award for 2025, celebrating its innovative approach to commercial lobby design. Located in Hong Kong and developed over the course of a year, the project reimagines high-traffic commercial spaces by integrating biophilic principles, natural textures, and a palette of warm, earthy tones. The result is a welcoming environment that balances artistic flair with understated luxury, offering a tranquil retreat within bustling urban settings.

Drawing inspiration from organic architecture and Scandinavian minimalism, "Tranquil Oasis" features textured stone, warm wood accents, and lush greenery, all meticulously crafted to evoke the calming essence of nature. The design's modular elements and scalable layouts accommodate lobbies ranging from 60 to 300 square meters, ensuring flexibility without compromising on aesthetic or function. Jewelry-like accessories and artful details add a refined touch, while low-VOC, durable finishes and adjustable warm LED lighting enhance comfort and sustainability.

The project's development involved extensive research into user experience, material selection, and spatial adaptability. ARTTA Concept Studio collaborated closely with users, testing various combinations of stone, wood, and plant life to identify the most relaxing and inclusive solutions. Overcoming challenges such as sourcing consistent natural materials and ensuring cohesive design across diverse spaces, the team-led by Arthur Tang, Natalie Chan, and Chloe Yiu-created a lobby experience that guides visitors through a smooth, welcoming journey, whether for leisure or productivity.

"Tranquil Oasis" not only elevates the standard for commercial lobby environments in Hong Kong but also demonstrates how thoughtful design can improve quality of life, reduce stress, and foster a sense of calm in busy urban contexts. The project's recognition at the 2025 A' Design Awards affirms ARTTA Concept Studio's commitment to excellence, creativity, and the integration of best practices in art, science, and technology.
