Shiny Meadow, a subsidiary of Mengniu Gaoke Fresh Dairy Products, is celebrating the 2025 Year of the Snake with an innovative milk packaging design by Li Huang and Shen Jia Ting. Launched in Shanghai and available nationwide from December 1, 2024, this limited edition packaging integrates the Chinese zodiac snake motif with a contemporary geometric aesthetic, aiming to uplift consumer spirits amid ongoing global economic challenges. The design not only honors cultural heritage but also introduces a unique interactive experience to everyday dairy consumption.
The standout feature of the new packaging is its double-layer label system. The top layer, adorned with a stylized snake pattern symbolizing good luck, can be peeled away to reveal one of six hidden blessings-such as love, wealth, and career-on the lower layer. This ritualistic act, reminiscent of drawing lots, adds emotional significance and excitement to the product, transforming the simple act of opening a milk bottle into a moment of anticipation and delight. A prominent triangular red indicator and raised edge on the label guide consumers to interact with the packaging intuitively and effortlessly.
Technologically, the packaging employs double-layered transparent BOPP material, synchronized printing for precise alignment, and localized hot stamping to create a luxurious visual hierarchy. The meticulous lamination and die-cutting processes ensure the label's durability and aesthetic appeal, even under refrigerated conditions.
