Sui Li: A Nature-Inspired Baijiu Packaging Celebrating Eastern Philosophy and Modern Craft

Sui Li, designed by Chen Zhao and the team at Zhejiang FirstDot Design Consulting, reimagines Chinese Baijiu packaging by drawing inspiration from the vitality and symbolism of seeds. The design reflects Eastern natural philosophies, emphasizing the nurturing, growth, and infinite potential embodied in seeds-paralleling the transformation of raw ingredients into refined Baijiu. The packaging also pays homage to the golden brewing region at latitude 33 degrees north, integrating river motifs to symbolize the flow and continuity of life.

The bottle, crafted from high borosilicate glass for clarity and durability, features a tactile seed vein texture and a striking gold seed-shaped label produced with advanced metallic transfer printing. This combination not only enhances visual appeal but also creates a memorable, multi-sensory experience for consumers. The bold contrast of gold, black, and white establishes a distinctive brand identity, while the silver gift box, adorned with screen-printed river contours and UV detailing, reinforces the connection to nature and geography.

Every element of Sui Li's design is meticulously considered to foster an emotional bond between the brand and its audience. The packaging's clear visual hierarchy ensures that product information is easily accessible, while the harmonious blend of traditional symbolism and contemporary craftsmanship resonates with modern consumers seeking authenticity and cultural depth. The project, initiated in December 2024 in Anhui and set for launch in December 2025, exemplifies the rise of new Chinese aesthetics and demonstrates how thoughtful design can elevate both brand and user experience.
