Bliggit: Redefining Digital Access to Wuppertal's City Services

Nortal User Experience Team (NUX) proudly presents Bliggit, an innovative mobile app designed to revolutionize access to city services in Wuppertal, Germany. Bliggit aims to address the fragmentation of city services by providing a single, secure digital platform for citizens to access news, transportation, banking, recreational activities, and more. The app serves as a catalyst for local synergies, connecting citizens and service providers to strengthen the community and enhance accessibility.

Bliggit is equipped with an adapted recommendations engine and filtering system, built on the Apache PredictionIO platform, ensuring personalized and efficient service delivery. Additionally, the app features Smart Assistance, leveraging data-based technologies to enhance daily life experiences for Wuppertal residents.

Available for both iOS and Android devices, Bliggit is a pivotal step towards a seamless e-society, offering a convenient, free, and personalized digital solution for citizens while providing city companies and service providers with an additional low-cost digital channel to engage with the community in real time.

The project commenced in Tallinn, Estonia, in February 2018 and concluded in Wuppertal, Germany, in the autumn of 2020. Bliggit is now live and has expanded to other cities in Germany, marking a significant milestone in the region's digitalization efforts.

Bliggit's development was not without its challenges, particularly in striking a balance between proactive services and data protection, given the German market's heightened awareness and concerns regarding data usage. However, the app has been well-received, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, proving its utility and relevance in the community.
