Daan L: Redefining Residential Spaces with Consistency and Elegance

An Zhi, Zheng's Daan L project is a testament to redefining residential spaces through a subtractive approach, creating a consistent and visually spacious environment. The 120 square meter U-shaped house in Taipei City was transformed into a cohesive living space, seamlessly connecting various areas while maintaining a sense of openness. The design utilizes wood grain, artistic coating, and natural marble to enhance the space without artificial modeling, providing a relaxed and resonant atmosphere for the homeowner.

The project's unique approach to lighting, flooring, and spatial organization addresses the challenges of creating a stress-free environment. Indirect lighting and carefully selected materials contribute to a gentle ambiance, while the use of natural marble flooring adds height to the space, countering the low ceiling height. Additionally, the design incorporates Feng-Shui principles, ensuring the bed board's shape and placement align with traditional beliefs, promoting harmony and restfulness.

Recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2022, An Zhi, Zheng's Daan L project stands as a testament to innovative residential design, seamlessly blending modern aesthetics with cultural and functional considerations.
