FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The 'Lights Kaohsiung' showcased 1,500 drones in eight spectacular shows at night on Love River Bay, creating a stunning reflection on the water's surface. The 'Illuminates Taiwan' presented the most representative images of Taiwan, showcasing the beauty of the country.
The project featured 1,500 Intel Classic Drones with programmable LED lights, offering more than 4 billion color combinations and adaptable to various physical performance environments.
The drone show, rehearsed once during the Lantern Festival, featured seven official shows at 9:45 p.m. over Love River Bay, attracting over 100,000 spectators per performance and boosting the local economy.
Inspired by the 2020 Summer Olympics opening ceremony, the show aimed to present innovative sound and light technology, combining Taiwanese creativity with international drone technology to showcase the historical and cultural context of Taiwan.
The project faced challenges from weather conditions and signal interference due to the large crowds, but successfully presented delicate animated content, combining elements of Taiwanese folklore, beliefs, history, and geography.
The Bureau of Cultural Affairs Kaohsiung, dedicated to promoting local growth in arts, humanities, heritage preservation, and international cultural exchanges, continues to lead in artistic events and creative industries.
