Koazy - A Fusion of Comfort and Functionality

Wenlai Zou introduces Koazy, a revolutionary homestay brand that challenges the conventional notions of comfort and relaxation. Koazy believes in embracing "laziness" as a positive attribute and aims to offer a space that promotes genuine comfort and practicality over mere appearances. The project, spanning 100 square meters, redefines the traditional homestay model by infusing it with cozy elements, creating a space that seamlessly combines the functions of a homestay and an exhibition hall.

The project, initiated in Chengdu in March 2023 and completed in July 2023, is set to commence on-site construction, promising a unique and energetic scene experience for its guests. The design team, led by Wenlai Zou and Dan Liu, has meticulously integrated the brand's products into the space, utilizing wood, artistic coatings, and metal as the primary materials.

Championing the fusion of residential functionality and exhibition space, Koazy offers a versatile environment that caters to the needs of residents while also serving as a platform for small exhibitions. The design process focused on retaining functional furniture through lightweight decoration, using the products themselves as integral elements of the interior design.

One of the key challenges addressed in the project was seamlessly integrating the residential and display space, achieved through meticulous planning to ensure privacy while maximizing openness. The resulting design reflects Koazy's philosophy of creating a dynamic and interesting scene experience, prioritizing comfort and practicality over superficial aesthetics.

Recognizing its exceptional innovation and expertise, Koazy's design was honored with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2024 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This accolade underscores the project's outstanding technical characteristics and remarkable level of excellence, setting a new standard for homestay and exhibition space design.
