Janus: A Whisky and Cocktail Bar with Postmodern Flair
0103 Interior Design presents Janus, a distinctive whisky and cocktail bar that challenges traditional concepts. The bar, spanning 200 square meters, offers multiple spatial experiences, blending postmodernism with a warm, retro feel.
The lead designer, JunLin Zhang, and the design team meticulously crafted the space to create a seamless transition between the first and second floors, providing contrasting yet harmonious atmospheres.
The bar's façade features clean geometric blocks with classical details, complemented by a cantilever platform showcasing a classical sculpture, evoking a sense of power and allure.
The project, initiated in March 2023, was completed in June 2023 in Changsha, China. The design team overcame challenges to integrate classical and contemporary elements, resulting in a space that offers diverse sensory experiences.
Janus received the Silver A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its outstanding innovation, technical excellence, and remarkable artistic skill.
