FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Award-winning designers Dang Ming and Li Dandi have unveiled a revolutionary project in the heart of Shanghai, China. The Experiential Hall is a pioneering endeavor that brings together catering, entertainment, and a furniture brand in a historic building, creating a unique urban space that redefines lifestyle experiences. Supported by Fritz Hansen, a renowned Danish furniture brand with over 140 years of history, the project breathes new life into an old house, seamlessly blending daily activities of catering and entertainment to restore spatial vitality in a friendly and inviting manner.
The Experiential Hall spans three floors, each offering a distinct experience. The second floor houses a membership restaurant, featuring modern private rooms adorned with a variety of furniture textures. Meanwhile, the third floor is transformed into an entertainment club, complete with an open reading space that allows customers to enjoy a serene reading experience and a leisurely pace of life. The space also includes tea rooms decorated in various styles, providing customers with the flexibility to socialize with friends or enjoy solitary moments.
The design process involved utilizing the existing staircase, wooden beams, and columns to preserve the old texture of the building, while maintaining and reinforcing its original structure to retain its historical charm. The project covers an area of 1270 square meters and features materials such as OSEKA carpet and DULUX painting, adding to the unique ambiance of the space.
The Experiential Hall is a testament to the designers' commitment to creating a space that offers a new lifestyle defined by the fusion of food, entertainment, and furniture experiences. The project, which commenced in July 2018 and was completed in May 2020, stands as a remarkable achievement in the realm of interior architecture and urban design.
