C&D Inc. (Wuxi Subsidiary) Unveils Shang Yuan, a Cultural Belt Project in Wuxi, China
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
C&D Inc. (Wuxi Subsidiary) proudly presents Shang Yuan, a demonstration center nestled within the ecological belt of Wuxi, China. Inspired by the rich heritage of the Grand Canal and the vision to transform it into a cultural belt, Shang Yuan embodies the essence of traditional Chinese architecture while seamlessly integrating contemporary functionality.
The landscape design of Shang Yuan draws inspiration from the dignified form of the Forbidden City, the courtyard layout of the Summer Palace, and the features of Jiangnan gardens. This unique blend creates a landscape pattern of "one hall, two axes, three entrances, five rituals, and six gardens," offering visitors an immersive experience that harmoniously fuses the ambience of Jiangnan gardens with modern lifestyle.
Constructed with the quintessence of Tang Dynasty architecture, Shang Yuan's buildings feature Tang-style cornices and angles, adorned with customized patterns. The landscape design incorporates the concept of a "sponge city," utilizing permeable and durable materials for sustainable urban rainwater management.
Shang Yuan is a testament to the dedication of the design team, including Zhang Shuo, Cui Xiaobing, Xie Meijuan, Gao Weijun, Li Keke, Dai Wenjue, and Yu Tian, who overcame the challenge of creating iconic gardens that distinguish Wuxi from other cities, resulting in a Silver A' Design Award in 2021.
