FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PlouNuvol is an immersive and interactive installation where participants co-create a storm within a cloud. Led by an actor-conductor, attendees move their bodies, making the sound of rain that triggers surprising visual effects. The cloud generates a show visible from both inside and outside, making the participants the creators of a storm in its different phases: cloud, rain, and thunderstorm.
The pavilion was created using an inflatable cloud with added artificial fog to enhance the feeling of being inside it. The show begins with an orchestra conductor teaching participants a choreography, turning their bodies into a percussion instrument. The sounds generated by the body are associated with rain phases, causing a rain of light inside the cloud. The installation measures 14900mm x 20760mm x 8130mm and was a Silver A' Design Award winner in 2020.
The project started in February 2019 in Barcelona during Llum Barcelona (Light Festival) for 4 hours each night during 3 days. It starts every 15 minutes. The installation attracted over 15,000 visitors, leaving double that number unable to enter due to time constraints. The project was awarded the Silver A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award in 2020.
