Discover the inspiration, innovation, and sustainable approach behind the "Have a Nice Can" packaging design by Kaoru Mizuno.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kaoru Mizuno's "Have a Nice Can" is a package design for a handmade craft canning brand created by a Japanese seafood restaurant. The design draws inspiration from the fishing port, with a gift bag handle resembling a rope. The package features bright orange and blue colors representing the sun and sea, with fish illustrations that can be endlessly connected for a store display, evoking the boundless sea.
The unique feature of the design lies in the endless connection of fish illustrations on the package sleeve, allowing it to be used not only for packaging but also as a captivating store display.
The environmentally friendly approach is evident in the use of FSC-certified paper for packaging sleeves and gift bags, as well as the "Green Aid Paper Series" for the gift box, reducing the environmental burden.
The unlabeled cans enable easy recycling and direct cooking, aligning with the brand's sustainable ethos.
The "Have a Nice Can" package is designed to cater to the changing consumer behavior during the pandemic, offering convenient options for in-store and online purchases, ensuring strong sales for the brand.
The project, which lasted about a year, was designed and produced in Japan, reflecting the meticulous research and dedication put into the creation of this innovative packaging solution.
Kaoru Mizuno's "Have a Nice Can" design has been recognized with the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2022, reflecting its outstanding creativity and impact on the industry.
