Exhibition Centre Showcases Romanesque Architecture

spaceworkers, a renowned architecture and design studio based in Porto, Portugal, has unveiled the Interpretation Centre of Romanesque, a striking architectural masterpiece located in the village of Lousada. Inspired by the concepts of Romanesque architecture in Portugal, the building serves as a transitional element between the present and the distant past, showcasing the unity within diversity through its seven concrete volumes with different heights.

The Interpretation Centre of Romanesque is a contemporary exploration of the important Romanesque past, creating an atmospheric symbiosis between different times. The building's design, with its distinct exhibition spaces, aims to promote public interaction, making visitors an integral part of the exhibition. The central glass-covered space creates a contrast between light and dark, enhancing the visitor's experience and understanding of the exhibition.

Constructed using concrete, the building pays homage to the past constructions that utilized local materials like stone and wood. The wood-textured concrete facades establish a strong connection with the surrounding nature, reflecting the architectural principles of the Romanesque era.
