The Zlin Region introduces a groundbreaking brand and visual identity designed by Little Greta, redefining the region's creative and entrepreneurial spirit with a philosophy of breaking free from self-imposed limits and embracing unlimited possibilities.

Little Greta, a renowned team of creatives and developers, has unveiled a revolutionary brand and visual identity for The Zlin Region, inspired by the visionary Czech entrepreneur Tomas Bata and the region's inhabitants. The design disrupts traditional Czech regional branding styles, utilizing a complex square-based visual identity to symbolize the region's creative and entrepreneurial spirit, ambition, worldliness, and courage.
The design dispenses carefully crafted brand DNA and essence of Live Creative Spirit to reinterpret the phrase Outside The Box. This manifests through a complex square-based visual identity, portraying a philosophical dichotomy of self-imposed limits and unrestricted possibilities. The square's edges represent natural roots, anchoring and framing, while denoting where transformation happens. A creative cube defying corners, recast as a box growing beyond imagined and actual borders. Amid the primary colors black, white, dark yellow, light yellow. Yellow is a reverential nod to Zlin's traditional hue. Covering part of the word Zlinsky emphasizes the iconoclasm of the design and region.
Positioning the region away from Prague's periphery, the design aims to transform perceptions and conceptions of Zlin, fostering a new horizon of creativity and innovation. The brand's values of acting, thinking, and living Outside The Box are communicated through the square, providing the foundation for breaking through physical and metaphorical walls. The project, which commenced in 2021 and concluded in 2022, faced challenges in reframing historical and social perspectives, ultimately leading to a bold and disruptive branding approach.
