Submarine-Themed Science Exhibition Hall

WhaleRider Architecture has unveiled the Suzhou Drainage Museum, a submarine-themed sewage treatment science museum near Shihu Bridge in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. The museum offers an immersive and joyful exploration of environmental protection through edutainment, drawing inspiration from submarines and sewage treatment elements to create an engaging space for all age groups to learn about ecological protection and sewage treatment.

The museum features a fusion of modern treatment equipment and submarine elements, including cockpits, portholes, and pipes, to showcase the effluent treatment process in a witty and progressive manner. Utilizing multimedia devices, the museum enriches educational modes and creates strong senses of joy, technology, and ritual, raising visitors' ecological awareness through immersive experiences.

Constructed with environmentally friendly materials, the museum's design reflects a modern and sustainable tone, aligning with its positioning as a science museum for popularizing knowledge about sewage treatment and ecological environment protection. The museum's service area covers approximately 58 square kilometers, serving a population of about 500,000 people with a daily treatment capacity of 180,000 tons.

The project, which lasted from June 10 to September 18, 2021, simplifies the water purification process into lucid steps of precipitation, filtration, adsorption, deep treatment, and disinfection, offering visitors a scientific and joyful experience. The museum's innovative design and use of multimedia technology aim to provide visitors with multiple interactive experiences, activating their interest in learning and raising their awareness of ecological environment protection.
