Fon Studio Unveils the Donghulin Guest House, a Unique Residential Design Inspired by Nature
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Fon Studio is proud to unveil the Donghulin Guest House, a residential design that seamlessly blends with its natural surroundings in Beijing. The inspiration for this project stemmed from the desire to maintain harmony between the building and its environment, resulting in a dark greyish hue that complements the landscape. The design features three pitched roofs of varying heights, creating a rhythmic response to the natural surroundings and offering captivating views from every angle.
The Donghulin Guest House stands out for its simplicity and clear design concept. The building is strategically positioned to seamlessly attach to the mountain, utilizing the height difference of the site to create a well-bedded residence. While the guest house offers limited guest rooms, it prioritizes a spacious public area to provide operational flexibility for the operators.
Constructed using poured concrete, the main structure of the house presented unique challenges in material transportation and temperature control. Despite the simple shape of the building, the craftsmanship requirements were high, posing difficulties for local construction workers. However, Fon Studio successfully navigated these challenges, ensuring cost-effective construction and a stunning end result.
The Donghulin Guest House boasts a site area of 170ã¡ and a building area of 230ã¡. It represents a unique fusion of Chinese modern architecture and country architecture, offering a serene retreat for visitors seeking a close-to-nature experience. The project commenced in May 2020 and was completed in June 2021, marking a significant milestone for Fon Studio in the realm of architectural innovation.
