Shenzhen Grandland & Beijing Guangyuan's visionary design for Harbin Metro Line 2 combines modern and traditional elements, reflecting the city's history and future aspirations.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Shenzhen Grandland & Beijing Guangyuan have unveiled their exceptional station design for Harbin Metro Line 2, inspired by the city's rich cultural heritage and future aspirations. The south, middle, and north segments of the line showcase modern life, old Harbin culture, and future vitality and innovation, respectively. The platforms feature a modern European style, integrating elements and colors to depict cultural scenes from Harbin's history.
The subway, running through the Songhua River, serves as an underground urban economic artery. The design incorporates building colors and European symbols at different stations, reflecting local culture and characteristics. The use of encaustic tiles, iron members, glass, and ceramic products in the interior adds interest to the space, creating a lively yet practical environment.
The total area of the project spans 250,000 square meters, with the design team members including Jiman Liu, Peng Li, Yuzhuo Wen, Zhenhui Gao, and Tao Liu. The completion of the project in April 2020 marks a significant milestone in the city's transportation infrastructure.
