Upscale Chinese Style Villa Project Unveiled in Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City

Greentown has unveiled its latest project, Taoyuan Town, a Chinese style villa development located in the Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City. The project, developed by Greentown, aims to depict the ideal idyllic life for the middle class, blending traditional Chinese culture with modern living.

The project features a tactful public space system, forming a Chinese classical garden-like landscape through the transition of gardens, streets, and courtyards. With a focus on integrating buildings and gardens, the residential units occupy about 666 sqm, positioning the project as an upscale Chinese-style residential development catering to those who pursue Chinese traditional culture and a quality life.

Natural materials including solid wood and stone are predominantly used in the constructions. The Chinese classical details, such as corridors, columns, arches, hangings, purlins, and rafters, are all made of logs, enhancing the traditional aesthetic. The project also emphasizes the use of dry-hanging stones rather than paint, elaborately carved and endowed with Chinese-style textures, to enhance the quality of the buildings.

Designed by Zhang Muque and the GTD team, the project interprets a generation process of classic Chinese garden, drawing on the advantages of Greentown's Chinese-style villas to present the best effect. The architectural details are elaborately designed to realize a harmonious scale, echoing the classic Chinese gardens.

Located in Hangzhou City, China, the project was realized between May 2019 and August 2021. The design draws inspiration from the elegant and modest atmosphere of classic Chinese gardens, aiming to improve the artistic effect of the natural landscape while satisfying functional needs and cultivating emotions.
