La Moitie: A Fusion of Contrasting Styles

La Moitie, a multi commercial space designed by One Fine Day, is a unique fusion of contrasting styles, featuring a fancy restaurant and designer showroom. The project, inspired by the concept of "half makes for each other," reflects the contrasting yet harmonious tastes of the couple who own it. The space utilizes elements such as square and circle, mild pink and black to express the inner connection between halves and mates.

The design concept of La Moitie revolves around the idea of two twisted styles leading the way, with contrast but perfectly matched elements such as shape, color, and character. The space offers a dramatic and immersive experience, where the boundary between the pink and black spaces is clear yet also blurred at different perspectives.

La Moitie features terrazzo, fiber-reinforced plastic, steels, and environmentally friendly coatings, and spans across 326m².

In the initial stage of the project research, the concept and style of the pink space were derived from Rococo art, such as the Bavarian Church and Versailles. The team overcame creative and technical challenges, such as the collision relationship between black and pink, by adopting a spiral staircase structure to connect the two spaces. The project was awarded the Golden A' Design Award in 2020 for its outstanding and trendsetting design.
