Asymptote's latest project, the "Less Is More" Sales Center in Wenling, redefines simplicity and modern art in spatial design, offering a glimpse into the city's spirit and future direction.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Asymptote, led by renowned designer Yang Song, has unveiled the "Less Is More" Sales Center in Wenling City, a project that embodies the essence of simplicity and cleanliness in spatial design. The 380 sqm space, located in the heart of Wenling, presents a unique trend in spatial art installation, replacing complex elements with geometric artistic installations and abundant blank spaces.
The project, Huahong Shi Dai Jiu Zhu, challenges traditional sales office designs by directing the visual focus to a grand sand table upon entry, rather than the reception area. The minimalist marble reception counter and background wall further exemplify the project's dedication to simplicity.
One of the unique features of the Sales Center is the deliberate use of space and light to express the artistic conception that "simplicity" is "minus." The design team, including Yang Song, Zhou Yu, and Wang Maoyu, strategically incorporated artificial green plants and pendant art installations to break the monotony of the space, creating a refreshing and vibrant atmosphere.
The project, completed in January 2020, was inspired by the city of Wenling's spirit of tolerance, openness, and forward-thinking, nestled between the natural seclusion of Jiulong Lake Wetland Park and the bustling modernity of Yintai Shopping Center.
Despite the structural limitations of the building and spatial heights, the "Less Is More" Sales Center was meticulously designed to be two floors, with independent yet complementary spaces to fulfill the project's mission.
Yang Song's design philosophy, rooted in the belief that design comes from life, has garnered international recognition, including the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award for the "Less Is More" Sales Center in 2021.
