Baidu Introduces AI-Powered Pipeline Inspection System for Enhanced Safety Production

CHINA -- /ENTERPRISE/newswire -- Nov 30, 2022

Baidu AI Cloud revolutionizes pipeline inspection with an AI-integrated system, ensuring safety and efficiency in high-risk scenarios

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Baidu Safety Production: AI-Integrated Pipeline Inspection System

Baidu AI Cloud has unveiled a groundbreaking AI-powered pipeline inspection system, designed to address the complex and hazardous nature of oil and gas pipeline transportation in China. The system, developed in response to the challenges posed by toxic gases and the limitations of traditional manual inspection methods, integrates advanced technologies to enhance inspection efficiency and provide early accident warnings.

This innovative system achieves deep integration of artificial intelligence with oil and gas pipeline inspection, leveraging industrial big data, edge computing, digital twin, the Internet of Things, GIS, and 5G technologies. It enables unmanned or minimally manned inspections in high-risk scenarios, significantly improving safety and operational efficiency.

Users can manage robots, develop inspection plans, and monitor pipeline situations through PC terminals, mobile devices, and large screens, facilitating multi-terminal interaction and enhancing inspection quality while ensuring personnel safety. The project was initiated in May 2022 and has been implemented in Chinese enterprises since August, with ongoing updates to meet evolving requirements.
