Award-winning designer Roy Menezes crafts a unique visual language inspired by nature for the online film festival, airing from October to December 2021.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Roy Menezes, along with a talented team, created a visually stunning brand design for the Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival, drawing inspiration from the rawness and imperfect beauty of nature. The design aimed to communicate with the audience and drive interest in the festival, which focused on giving back to nature.
The unique design language was realized using hand-drawn illustrations and watercolors, which were then converted to electronic format and carefully arranged to resemble a collage of nature. The use of a modern sans-serif font ensured the design rendered beautifully across various mediums, maintaining brand recall and recognition.
The online festival's design had to be versatile, rendering horizontally and vertically without compromise. Each film was created in multiple ratios to play seamlessly across different media, devices, and platforms. The design also incorporated brand marks and word marks integrating elements of each theme, aiding in visual recall and recognition.
The festival's design worked seamlessly across social media, connected televisions, and mobile devices, driving audiences to the event with a simple click. The project, which began in Mumbai, was a response to the evolving world, aiming to communicate the need for change and conservation.
Roy Menezes' design for the Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2022, recognizing its outstanding creativity and contribution to the improvement of quality of life through art, science, design, and technology.
