Chang Yi-Chung's "Modern Oriental Simplicity" project is a testament to the seamless fusion of traditional Chinese elements with modern design aesthetics. The spacious apartment, designed for a three-generation family, strategically balances private and public spaces to foster familial bonds.

The design showcases traditional oriental elements in a modern style, aiming to simplify unnecessary parts while focusing on essential needs and embracing cultural differences. The entranceway features a marble wall behind a Guanyin statue, evoking a sense of tranquility and peace. The installation art made of solid wood resembles a string instrument, adding a touch of musical elegance to the space.

The project's black-white color scheme and minimalist style introduce traditional Chinese elements such as painting, music, and poetry, creating a harmonious blend of the past and present. The design also incorporates a tea room, a silent retreat adorned with a wing-shaped chandelier made of metal wire, providing a serene contrast to the lively living room.

Inspired by the multi-treasure cabinet concept from the Qing Dynasty, the dining room's wall serves as a functional yet artistic display, reflecting the homeowner's pursuit of a happy and harmonious family life. The design's flexible space configuration allows for seamless interaction and adaptation, catering to the diverse needs of the family.

Chang Yi-Chung's "Modern Oriental Simplicity" has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award, underscoring its practical, innovative, and industry-leading approach to residential design.
