Rds has unveiled the WF01TR, a groundbreaking racing wheelchair designed to enhance athlete performance at the Paralympic Games. The project, which commenced in August 2017 and concluded in September 2019 in Japan, aimed to develop a wheelchair that maximizes an athlete's abilities and competitive performance.
The WF01TR is a result of extensive research and development, with a focus on optimizing the athlete's seating position to improve competitive performance. The design team utilized the seat position simulator SS01 to determine the ideal seating position, enhancing the athlete's rowing and overall stability. The wheelchair's ultra-lightweight and high-rigidity construction, coupled with high acceleration, sets it apart from conventional racing wheelchairs, offering unparalleled performance for short-distance events.
Constructed using CFRP Monocoque Frame technology, the WF01TR boasts a width of 650 mm, depth of 2100 mm, and a height of 700 mm. The design team's meticulous attention to detail and dedication to enhancing the athlete's experience culminated in a wheelchair that offers stability and high cornering performance without disrupting the athlete's concentration during competition.
