River House by Office AT: Award-Winning Family Residence Blending Panoramic River Views with Modern Functionality

River House, designed by Office AT and completed in 2023, stands as a testament to contemporary residential architecture that harmonizes with its natural surroundings. Located just north of Bangkok in Pathum Thani province, the house is strategically positioned to capture sweeping vistas of the Chao Phraya River's scenic bend. The design maximizes these views through expansive sliding doors and an open-plan layout, seamlessly connecting the terrace and infinity pool with the river, and fostering a unique blend of indoor and outdoor living.

The residence is meticulously crafted to accommodate the diverse needs of a large family and their guests. Spanning 4,500 square meters on a 24,316-square-meter riverside plot, the three-story home features a ground floor dedicated to service and recreation, including indoor parking for supercars, a fitness area, table tennis room, badminton court, and golf simulator. The main living and dining area, located on the second floor, is designed for gatherings of up to 50 people and boasts a remarkable 12-meter cantilever supported by a concealed concrete truss. This engineering feat eliminates the need for columns near the riverfront, ensuring uninterrupted views and a spacious, column-free environment for socializing and relaxation.

The third floor houses private sleeping quarters, including five bedrooms for children and a master suite with river views for the parents. Skylights throughout the home enhance natural light, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. The house's orientation along the east-west axis minimizes heat gain, optimizing comfort in Thailand's tropical climate.
