FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bean Buro's Mangrove Garden project, now recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award 2025, reimagines the modern workplace for a leading global financial institution in Hong Kong. Spanning 54,000 square feet across three storeys in a class A building, the project was completed in April 2024 and sets a new standard for commercial office interiors by harmonizing vibrant natural elements with a hospitality-driven, human-centric approach. Each floor features a central hub inspired by mangrove gardens, with tropical flora and sculptural forms that foster social interaction, collaboration, and a strong sense of identity.
The design challenges conventional corporate environments by introducing interactive local art installations, flexible seating, and a dynamic reinterpretation of the client's signature red through a diverse color palette. These choices create a cohesive yet energetic atmosphere that encourages creativity, engagement, and well-being among employees. Sustainable practices are at the core of the project, with repurposed furnishings, bio-based finishes, and responsible material selection, as well as immersive lighting and spatial flow strategies that enhance both environmental awareness and user experience.
Bean Buro's research-driven approach involved collaborative stakeholder engagement, site analysis, and workshops with employees, artists, and designers. The outcome is a workplace that not only reflects the client's brand heritage but also pioneers new trends in office design by prioritizing sustainability, cultural resonance, and user satisfaction. Mangrove Garden stands as a benchmark for future-forward, humanistic corporate environments in Hong Kong and beyond, demonstrating how thoughtful design can challenge norms and elevate workplace culture.
