Tone Tableware Collection by Özkan Koral Receives International Recognition for Sustainable Mediterranean Design

The Tone Tableware Collection, created by Turkish designer Özkan Koral, has been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware category for 2025. Drawing inspiration from the Mediterranean's vibrant culture, music, and landscapes, the collection captures the essence of coastal living through its organic, mildly scalloped forms reminiscent of sea shells, flamenco dresses, and gentle waves. First showcased at the 2024 Ambiente Fair in Frankfurt, Tone is tailored for boutique and fine dining establishments seeking a unique and memorable dining experience.

Crafted from Bonna's premium vitrified body, the Tone Collection features three distinctive reactive glazes-Sahara, Blush, and Adelfa-offering both visual appeal and durability. The production process emphasizes sustainability, utilizing minimal energy and generating low carbon emissions, resulting in tableware with nearly zero water absorption and a lifespan comparable to porcelain. This eco-conscious approach, combined with a ceramic workshop feel, ensures that Tone meets the rigorous demands of the Horeca sector, including functional sizing, stackability, and long-lasting performance.

Comprising eleven versatile pieces ranging from 100 to 360 mm in width, the collection's slightly abstract design language allows for seamless adaptation across various dining environments. Extensive research, including consultations with chefs and restaurant professionals, informed the development of Tone to address real-world needs in both aesthetics and practicality. Its compatibility with other Bonna products and open-ended mix-and-match possibilities further enhance its appeal, making it a standout choice for establishments seeking both style and substance in their tableware.
